George "Butch" Sharp was born March 27, 1943, south of Vernon, Co, to Carl & Helen (Calhoon) Sharp. He departed this life December 3, after a long courageous battle with MS. Butch was always proud to say he was born in a sod house. This was his grandparent Calhoon's home. Grandma Kate Calhoon (Mrs. Roy) was the attending midwife. Butch attended school in Haigler through his freshman year when he quit school to join his father in the ranching business. Butch was a cowboy and lived most of his life in this line of work. He enjoyed the outdoors and the cowboy way of life. Butch was a story teller and you could believe them or not but he always swore that they were the truth. Butch never met a stranger and would talk to everyone.
On March 3, 1963, he married Carol Miller and to this union three sons were born. He entered the Hillcrest Home in October 2000 and moved to Broken Bow in June of 2011. He was preceded in death by his wife Carol, brother Bill, and nephew Robby Valasek.
