Nebraska Cattlemen Establish Priority Bills
The Nebraska Cattlemen Legislative Committee recently had a meeting to discuss 134 legislative bills that have been introduced this session. Two priority bills were selected by the committee, LB 1066, relates to appropriations of funds for the Board of Regents of the University of Nebraska to plan a veterinary diagnostic laboratory facility and LB 884 involves agricultural education, by creating an agricultural literacy task force. Committee Chairman Dale Spencer of Brewster said the laboratory is necessary if Nebraska is going to move forward and become the beef epicenter of the United States and that the ag literacy task force will create a better connection to those students removed from the farm.
