South Loup defeats Arcadia in LVC opener

CALLAWAY- South Loup is heading to the semifinals of the LVC Tournament. The Bobcats took care of business Monday night as they defeated Arcadia 51-26.

 

The Bobcats led early on 13-9 after one quarter behind Aaron Stryker and Colter Glendy who got the offense going with two big 3-point shots. In the second quarter, South Loup kept the offense clicking as they would outscore the Huskies 17-11, taking a 30-20 lead into the break. In the second half, South Loup turned up the pressure on defense. Arcadia struggled to make shots and only scored six points in the second half. Arcadia was shutout in the fourth quarter. South Loup outscored Arcadia 21-6 in the second half.

 

Stryker led the Bobcats with 17 points. Drew Bowers and Tanner Cline added seven points each. Matthew Quick led Arcadia with eight points while Michael Chelewski scored seven in the loss.

 

South Loup improved to 8-6 and will play Twin Loup in the second round of the LVC Tournament Thursday night in Broken Bow. Arcadia falls to 4-12.
