Broken Bow Volunteer Firemen Honor Franssen

On January 23rd the Broken Bow City Council gave approval to the Broken Bow Volunteer Fire Department to purchase a used Ladder Truck from the David City Fire Department. The truck arrived in Broken Bow on Wednesday, February 1st. Jim Franssen passed away recently and his funeral was Thursday. Franssen attended the City Council meeting on the 23rd and the approval for the purchase of the fire truck was one of the last votes he made. In honor of Jim's 46 years on the Fire Department and his service to the City of Broken Bow as Mayor and City Council member, the Fire Department set the ladder truck in the lot east of Chapin's on Thursday morning and extended the ladder with a very large American Flag hung at half mast.
