Nebraska State Patrol Issues Travel Reminders

The Nebraska State Patrol would like to remind motorists that as conditions change during winter weather there are several things to remember. Adjust speeds and do not travel faster than conditions allow; do not drive in slick, wet, snowy weather with your cruise control on; allow extra distance to react to others around you; exercise caution on bridges and overpasses; and be sure to keep your headlights on and make sure they are cleaned off. If you have travel plans, please be sure and check the conditions along your route. You will find road closures and conditions at www.511.nebraska.gov or by dialing 511 from any phone. Motorists that need non-emergency roadside assistance may call the Nebraska State Patrol Highway Helpline at *55 from a cell phone or 1-800-525-5555 from a landline.
