Arnold Battles Two Fires Wednesday
According to Arnold Fire Chief Robbi Smith, Arnold Fire and Rescue were called to two fires on Wednesday. Early in the day a fire was reported at the Arnold Motel. The cause was an overloaded electrical system and did approximately $40,000 in damage before being put out. The second fire call came a little after 9:00 pm when they were called to the residence of the Redden family on Devils Gulch Road. Merna, Broken Bow and Stapleton Fire Departments were called in for mutual aid. The cause of this fire was a fault in the electrical system. The house was a total loss and the estimate is approximately $250,000. The Redden family is new to the area and has been place in a motel by the Red Cross until other housing can be arranged. The Red Cross is asking for clothing donations for the family and sizes are as follows: Boys jeans size 28-34, shirts small men's size, jeans size 14 slim, shirts 14-16, jeans size 10 slim, shirt size 10-12, Father's jeans size 32-36 and a large shirt size, Mother jeans approximately 14 or 16 and a shirt size of extra large.
