Broken Bow Students Sign Cards & Release Balloons
Broken Bow High School students, staff members, parents and members of the community gathered at Mark Russell Field on Monday night to send messages to their fellow students still recovering and to the families of Coaches Harvey and Blum. Everyone was invited to sign poster size cards for each person. Miranda Dunkel said she would like Mr. Blum's family to know that he was in a place where people really cared about him and he had a lot of friends. Miranda said that Mr. Harvey touched a lot of lives in his time at Broken Bow and that former students are also affected by the loss. Those attending were also invited to write notes on helium balloons and they were all released together after a moment of silence. Mr. Kujath said the coaches may be gone but are not forgotten and will always hold a place in their hearts. Broken Bow Public Schools would like to invite the public to a Memorial Celebration in honor of Mr. Harvey and Mr. Blum on Monday, June 11th at 7:00 pm at the Municipal Building.
