Mar 19, 2010 - Eagle golfers in third after first day at Yellowjacket Invitational
BILLINGS, Mont. – Three Chadron State College women’s golfers finished in the top 13 and the Eagles shot a round of 365 as a team to finish in third place during the first day of the Montana State University-Billings Yellowjacket Invitational Thursday at Eaglerock Golf Course.
Rocky Mountain College leads the four-team field with a first-day total of 321. MSU-Billings is second with 342, and the University of Great Falls is fourth with 397.
Junior Caitlin Parker leads the Eagles by carding a first round of 89, while Allison Rowden (Broken Bow) and Samantha Hanson are tied for 13th with rounds of 91. Alissa Peterson and Michelle Haynes aren’t far behind. Peterson shot a 94 and Haynes finished with a round of 95.
The invitational concludes today.
Mar 19, 2010 - Snow cancels final round of Yellowjacket Invitational
BILLINGS, Mont. – The second day of the 2010 Yellowjacket Invitational has been canceled due to snow, MSUB head men’s and women’s golf coach Shawn O’Brien announced Friday morning at Eaglerock Golf Course.
The Chadron State College women’s team was in third place heading into today’s final round after shooting a 365.
Rocky Mountain College won the four-team tourney with a score of 321. MSU-Billings was second with 342, and the University of Great Falls finished fourth with 397.
Three CSC women’s golfers finished in the top 13. Junior Caitlin Parker led the Eagles by carding a round of 89, while Allison Rowden and Samantha Hanson finished tied for 13th with rounds of 91.
Alissa Peterson and Michelle Haynes didn’t finish far behind. Peterson shot a 94 and Haynes finished with a round of 95.
The CSC golf team will be back in action April 4-6 at the Mesa State Invitational in Grand Junction, Colo.
