There will be coverage of today’s District B Track and Field Meet at Lexington this afternoon. Live reports will start after 1:00 on KBBN 95.3 FM. Schools involved in the competition that will determine state qualifiers include Broken Bow, Adams Central, Hastings, Hastings St. Cecilia, Holdrege, Lexington, Minden, G.I. Northwest, Ord, and St. Paul.
It was another beautiful day at Arnold High School on Wednesday for the Girls and Boys District D Track and Field meet. The Ansley Lady Warriors won the District D meet with 99 points, Arnold wasn't too far behind taking 2nd with 95, Mullen was 3rd with 87, Anselmo-Merna came in 4th with 55, Sargent placed 5th with 50.5, Callaway took 6th with 38 points, McPherson County was 7th with 31.5 points, Sandhills came in 8th with 25 points, Loup County came in 9th with 22, Stapleton was 10th with 11 points and Thedford came in 11th with 10 points. In the Girls Field events, Allycia Myers of A-M qualified for State in the Long Jump taking 1st with a leap of 16 feet 3 inches, Allana Tomlinson also qualified for State placing 2nd with a jump of 16 feet and a half inch, Rebecca Davenport of Sargent came in 3rd jumping 15 feet 6 1/2, Brooke Schipporeit of Anselmo-Merna was 4th with a jump of 14 feet 10 1/2, Anne Morse of Sargent came in 5th jumping 14 feet and 3/4 of an inch and Sydney VanDiest of Sandhills rounded out the top 6 with a jump of 13 feet 10 and 3/4. In the Girls Triple Jump, Allycia Myers had another incredible performance for A-M qualifying for state with a 1st place jump of 35 feet 3 inches, Chelsea Entz of Ansley also qualified for state taking 2nd with a jump of 34 feet 5 inches, Brooke Schipporeit of Anselmo-Merna placed 3rd jumping 34 feet 2 3/4, Rebecca Davenport of Sargent was 4th jumping 31 feet 4 inches, Trisha Hendricks of Callaway came in 4th with a leap of 30 feet 5 1/4 and Victoria Spanel of CHS took 6th with a leap of 30 4 3/4. In the Girls High Jump, Julia Hauser of Stapleton grabbed 1st getting over the bar in 4 feet 10 inches, Megan Davis of Sargent cleared the same height taking 2nd, Katinka Sauer of Sargent came in 3rd clearing 4 feet 9 inches, Treva Nutter of Thedford was 4th getting over the bar in 4 feet 8 inches, Allycia Myers of A-M cleared the same height taking 5th, while Amy Waits of McPherson County and Brenda Maldonado of Sargent tied for 6th with a jump of 4 feet 6 inches. In the Girls Pole Vault, Jana Cool of Arnold was awarded 1st powering over in 7 feet 6 inches, Shavonne Weinman of Arnold was 2nd clearing the same height, while Kali Blevins of Arnold took 3rd getting over the bar in 6 feet and Kaitlyn Amsberry of Ansley came in 4th powering over in 6 feet. In the Girls Shot Put, Kimberly Urbanovsky of Arnold picked up 1st and qualified for state with a throw of 38 feet 10 1/2, Nicole Swisher of Sandhills placed 2nd and qualified for state with a throw of 34 feet 1 1/2, Whitney Weinman of Arnold came in 3rd with a throw of 34 feet and a 1/2 inch, Megan Hoesing of Mullen grabbed 4th with a throw 32 feet 6 inches, Sara Oberg of Sandhills took 5th with a toss of 30 feet 3 1/2 and Linly Hempstead of A-M finished 6th with a throw of 29 feet 9 inches. In the Girls Discus, Kimberly Urbanovsky qualified for state taking 1st with a throw of 112 feet 8 inches, Megan Hoesing of Mullen placed 2nd with a throw of 103 feet 2 inches, Nicole Swisher was 3rd with a throw of 100 feet, Brittany Schulte of Ansley came in 4th throwing 92 feet 1 inch, Jessi Burnett of A-M was 5th throwing 85 feet 4 inches and Rebecca Amsberry of Ansley finished 6th with a throw of 81 feet 8 inches. In the Girls sprinting events, Skylar Rohde of Ansley qualified for state in the 100 dashing across the finish line 1st in 12.6, Alexandra Varney of Arnold took 2nd and also qualified for state with a time of 12.9, Chelsea Entz of Ansley was 3rd in 13 flat, Alana Kirwan of Sargent came in 4th in 13.2, Taylor Rohde of Ansley was 5th in 13.3 and Dani Ellis of Callaway took 6th in 13.4. In the Girls 200, Skylar Rohde was victorious again with a 1st place state qualifying time of 27.3, Chelsea Entz of Ansley also qualified for state taking 2nd in 27.7, Alexandra Varney of Arnold placed 3rd with a time of 27.8, Kate Seifer of McPherson County was 4th in 29.1, Allana Tomlinson of Mullen took 5th in 29.2 and Taylor Rohde of Ansley rounded out the top 6 with a time of 29.3. In the Girls 100 meter low hurdles, Brittany Cambern of Ansley qualified for state taking 1st in 16.8, Tazalea Scott of Ansley placed 2nd with a time of 17.7, Ashley Wilson of Callaway took 3rd in 17.8, Tamara Nilson of Loup County took 4th in 18.3, Cammie Schwartz of Mullen was 5th and Katinka Sauer of Sargent finished 6th. In the Girls 300 meter hurdles, Tricia Young of Mullen was 1st with a state qualifying time of 50.3, Tazalea Scott had another 2nd place finish with a time of 50.9, Kelsey Porath of Mullen came in 3rd in 52.3, Brittany Cambern of Ansley came in 4th with a time of 52.4, Ashley Wilson of Callaway came in 5th with a time of 55.7 and Katinka Sauer of Sargent finished 6th in 56.6. In the Girls 400 meters, Ali Rosentrater of Arnold qualified for state with a 1st place finishing time of 60.2, Hannah Connealy of Mullen placed 2nd in 60.8, Michelle Johnson of Callaway took 3rd in 63.3, Allycia Myers of A-M was 4th in 65.5, Kate Seifer of McPherson County came in 5th in 66.5 and Julia Hauser of Stapleton was 6th in 66.6. In the Girls distance events, Hannah Connealy of Mullen had a phenomenal performance in the 800 taking 1st and qualifying for state in that event with a time of 2:27.9, Ali Rosentrater of Arnold was 2nd in 2:34, Jill Petersen of Loup County came in 3rd with a time of 2:37.6, Lisa Kraus of Loup County was 4th in 2:52.3, Jordan Marsh of Ansley came in 5th running 2:56 and Amy Waits of McPherson County finished 6th in 2:57. In the Girls 1600, Tasha Miller of McPherson County barely took 1st and qualified for state running 5:57.2, Ali Rosentrater of Arnold was 2nd, Becca Cramer of A-M came in 3rd in 6:04.3, Valorie Matulka of Thedford was 4th in 6:13.5, Lauren Boyer of Mullen came in 5th in 6:20.6 and Brenda Maldonado of Sargent finished 6th in 6:45. In the Girls 3200, Tasha Miller was triumphant again with a 1st place time of 13:14.6, Brenda Maldonado of Sargent was 2nd in 14:12.9, Kasey Brown of Mullen took 3rd in 14:32.1, Mara Seifer of McPherson County came in 4th in 14:33.8, Sara Brestel of Callaway placed 5th in 14:37.8 and Brittany Ingraham of Loup County finished 6th in 15:09. In the Girls relays, Mullen qualified for state taking 1st in the 4 by 800 in 10:45.2, Callaway was 2nd in 10:54.2, Loup County came in 3rd in 11:02.4, A-M was 4th in 11:29, Thedford took 5th in 11:59.8 and Sargent was 6th in 12:30.6. In the Girls 4 by 100 relay, Ansley qualified for state with a strong 1st place performance of 52.3, Sargent was 2nd in 52.7, Anselmo-Merna took 3rd in 55.7, Sandhills came in 4th in 58.2, Callaway was 5th in 59.2 and Mullen took 6th in 61.3. In the Girls Mile relay, Mullen was sucessful in qualifying for state in this event taking 1st in 4:19.4, Callaway was 2nd in 4:24.6, Arnold placed 3rd in 4:28.3, Sargent grabbed 4th in 4:37.4, Ansley was 5th in 4:39.5 and Loup County finished 6th in 4:47.2.
The Ansley Warrior Boys squad was victorious in the District D Track and Field meet on Wednesday taking 1st accumulating 106 points, Arnold was 2nd with 89, Loup County placed 3rd with 68, Callaway took 4th with 53, Stapleton was 5th with 50, Mullen took 6th with 45, Anselmo-Merna was 7th with 37, McPherson County came in 8th with 32 points, Sargent was 9th with 24, Thedford took 10th with 12 and Sandhills was 11th with 8 points. In the Boys Field events, Alex Peterson of Loup County outdistanced the competition and qualified for state in the Long Jump taking 1st with a leap of 21 feet and 3/4 of an inch, Derrick Bowers of Arnold came in 2nd qualifying for state jumping 19 feet and a 1/2 inch, Tyrell Fischer of McPherson County placed 3rd with a jump of 19 feet, Ridge Horky of Sargent took 4th with a leap of 18 8 1/2, Aaron Finney of Thedford came in 5th jumping 18 4 3/4 and Logan McMullen of A-M finished 6th with a jump of 18 feet 4 inches. In the Boys Triple Jump, Alex Peterson of Loup County had another successful performance qualifying for state in this event taking 1st with a jump of 40 feet 8 inches, Rob Keeney of Callaway was 2nd jumping 40 feet 7 inches, Talon Scott of Ansley took 3rd with a jump of 40 feet 6 1/2, Jake Sowders of McPherson County placed 4th with a jump of 39 feet 6 inches, Derrick Bowers of Arnold was 5th jumping 39 feet 4 1/2 and Ridge Horky of Sargent was 6th with a jump of 38 feet 7 3/4. In the Boys High Jump, Tyrell Fischer of McPherson County, Derrick Bowers of Arnold, Levi Entz of Ansley and Cole Seeley of Sandhills all took 1st, 2nd, 3rd and 4th with a clearing height of 5 feet 10 inches, Justin Ehlers of Stapleton was 5th jumping 5 feet 8 inches and Ryan Blaine of Ansley finished 6th with a jump of 5 feet 6 inches. In the Boys Discus, Dustin Strasburg qualified for state taking 1st with an impressive throw of 135 feet 4 inches, Seth Vose of Ansley placed 2nd and qualified for state throwing 122 feet 11 inches, Gabriel Connealy of Mullen placed 3rd throwing 122 feet 2 inches, Ben Cochran of McPherson County took 4th with a throw of 122 feet, while Stapleton had 2 throwers take 5th and 6th as Justin Peterson threw 117 feet 8 inches and Garrett Peterson threw 114 feet 3 inches. In the Boys sprinting events, Logan Shermer of Loup County won by one tenth of a second in the 100 with a time of 11.2, Lucas Howard of Loup County and Wes Slack of Ansley took 2nd and 3rd running 11.3, Drew Sommer of Ansley was 4th in 11.5, Alex Valdsgaard of Thedford came in 5th in 11.6 and Tyler Bartak finished 6th in 11.7. In the Boys 200, Logan Shermer of Loup County also qualified for state in this event taking 1st with a time of 23.5, Wes Slack of Ansley was 2nd, Drew Sommer of Ansley came in 3rd in 23.8, Thomas Derr of Arnold came in 4th in 24 flat, Jeff Slagle of Sargent took 5th in 24.5 and Stephan Rush of A-M finished 6th in 24.6. In the Boys 110 meter high hurdles, Rob Keeney of Callaway scratched by with a 1st place performance and a state qualifying time of 14.9, Gentry Doane of Ansley was 2nd in 15.1, Jon Walz of Stapleton took 3rd in 15.2, Dusty Schwartz of Mullen came in 4th in 15.6, while Chet Kirkpatrick of A-M and Levi Entz of Ansley took 5th and 6th running 16.7. In the Boys 300 meter Intermediate hurdles, Rob Keeney of Callaway took home another 1st performance by qualifying for state with a time of 40 flat, Dusty Schwartz of Mullen and Gentry Doane of Ansley grabbed 2nd and 3rd running 40.4, Jon Walz of Stapleton was 4th in 41.1, Colton Rush of A-M was 5th in 44.6 and Chet Kirkpatrick of Anselmo-Merna finished 6th in 44.9. In the Boys 400, Tanner Barnum of Stapleton qualified for state taking 1st running 52.3, Brad Wright of Mullen was 2nd in 52.5, Lucas Howard of Loup County took 3rd in 52.9, Evan Bartak of Anselmo-Merna was 4th in 54.3, Peter Jenkins of Callaway came in 5th in 55.7 and Theo Williams of Sargent finished 6th in 55.9. In the Boys distance events, Tanner Barnum of Stapleton had another state qualifying performance, this time in the 800 taking 1st in 2:05.6, Brad Wright of Mullen placed 2nd and qualified for state in 2:06.5, David Halstead of Arnold was 3rd in 2:10.6, Thomas Bishop of Arnold came in 4th with a time of 2:24.1, Casey Sheets of Sargent came in 5th in 2:24.6 and Andrew Christen of A-M was 6th in 2:25.5. In the Boys 1600 meters, Tanner Barnum of Stapleton had another tremendous performance that qualified him for state in another event taking 1st in 4:53, Casey Edelman of Arnold also qualified for state taking 2nd in 4:54.5, Michael Palmer of Ansley placed 3rd in 5:11.4, Kale Anderson of Sandhills took 4th in 5:20.9, Cole Jacobson of Arnold came in 5th in 5:29.9 and Zach Call of Mullen was 6th in 5:31.4. In the Boys 3200, Casey Edelman had a great performance qualifying for state taking 1st in 10:56, Michael Palmer of Ansley was 2nd 11:11.4, Brandon Peterson of Arnold came in 3rd in 12:10.7, Uriel Song of Mullen took 4th in 12:17, Gabe Ryland of McPherson County was 5th in 12:33.8 and Brandon Morse of Sargent finished 6th in 12:47.8. In the relay events, Arnold was victorious qualifying for state in the 4 by 800 running 8:42.2, Thedford placed 2nd in 8:50.3, Mullen took 3rd in 9:26.1, Callaway placed 4th in 9:36.3, Sargent came in 5th in 9:40.9 and Stapleton took 6th in 9:49.8. In the Boys 4 by 100, Anselmo-Merna barely qualified for state in this event by one tenth of a second running 45 seconds, Loup County was 2nd in 45.1, Ansley came in 3rd in 45.9, Sargent took 4th in 48.1, Callaway was 5th in 50.3 and Arnold finished 6th in 50.7. In the Boys Mile relay, Callaway was in 3rd place going into the final 400 meters of this event, but came from behind to take 1st and qualify for state with a time of 3:38.2, Ansley was 2nd in 3:39.3, Loup County took 3rd in 3:39.9, Stapleton came in 4th in 3:42.7, Anselmo-Merna placed 5th in 3:43.2 and Arnold was 6th with a time of 3:46.4.Wednesday May 7, 2008
There is a District D Track and Field Meet in Arnold today starting at 10:00 this morning. KBBN 95.3 FM will provide reports throughout the day as teams from Ansley, Anselmo-Merna, Arnold, Callaway, Loup County, McPherson County, Mullen, Sandhills, Sargent, Stapleton and Thedford attempt to win a berth at the State Meet in Omaha.
The Broken Bow boys golf team competed in Cozad Monday at the Southwest Conference Meet. Gibbon finished 12th with a team score of 398, Chase County was 11th shooting a 365, Ainsworth took 10th with a 362, Broken Bow came in 9th with a 353, Gothenburg was 8th with a 349, Ogallala placed 7th with a 336, North Platte St. Patty's was 6th with a 335, Minden was 5th with a 331, Valentine came in 4th with a 322, the Kearney Reserves were 3rd with a 320, Holdrege finished 2nd with a 314 and Cozad won the meet taking 1st shooting a 311. Jordan Arensdorf of North Platte St. Patrick's won the meet by one stroke shooting a 71, while Justin Henry of Cozad and Alan Dredge of Valentine both shot a 72 placing 2nd and 3rd. For Broken Bow, Jason Nohalty, Mitchell White and Preston Peterson all carded an 88, while Logan Spanel shot an 89.
The Broken Bow High School Spring Sports Banquet was held Monday night. Letter winners were recognized and the Athletes of the Year were named. Senior Katie White received that honor for the girls and Senior Bryan Meyer was honored with the boys’ award.

Boys and girls district high school track and field begins tomorrow for many schools across the state. One District D Track and Field Meet will be in Arnold starting at 10:00 Wednesday morning. 95.3 KBBN-FM “The Thunderbird” will provide reports throughout the day as Ansley, the boys and girls LVC Champs, compete against Anselmo-Merna, Arnold, Callaway, Loup County, McPherson County, Mullen, Sandhills, Sargent, Stapleton and Thedford.

It was a beautiful day at Arnold High School on Saturday as the Girls and Boys Loup Valley Conference Track and Field meet took place. The meet was originally scheduled for Friday in North Platte, but was rescheduled to occur on Saturday in the Arnold area due to the weather. The Ansley Lady Warriors easily won the LVC title with 114 points and Hannah Connealy of Mullen was named MVP for her superb performances in the 400, 800 and Mile relay. In the Girls Field events, Allycia Myers of A-M just did come away with 1st place in the Long Jump by 1 inch with a leap of 15 feet 9 inches, Rebecca Davenport of Sargent took 2nd with a jump of 15 feet 8 inches, Sydney VanDiest of Sandhills was 3rd jumping 13 feet 9 1/2, Taylor Rohde of Ansley came in 4th with a jump of 13 feet 9 inches, Megan Prunk of Litchfield placed 5th jumping 13 feet 7 inches and Kelsey Frink of Sargent finished 6th jumping 13 feet 5 1/2. In the Girls 1600 meters, Valorie Matulka of Thedford won a neck and neck battle with a final kick in the last 50 meters to take 1st in 6:01.5, Becca Cramer of Anselmo-Merna was a close 2nd in 6:02.1, Brenda Maldonado of Sargent came in 3rd with a time of 6:31.9, followed by Megan Prunk of Litchfield finishing 4th, Tara Nelson of Callaway was 5th and Courtney Jameson of Thedford finished 6th. In the Girls 3200, Brenda Maldonado of Sargent had a tremendous performance taking 1st in 13:00.5, Kasey Brown of Mullen was a distant 2nd running 14:19.6, Sara Brestel of Callaway was 3rd with a time of 14:22.8, while Melissa Matulka of Thedford and Jenna Spangler of Callaway finished 4th and 5th. In the Girls relay events, Mullen won the 4 by 800 with a time of 11:04.8, Callaway placed 2nd in 11:08.2, A-M was 3rd in 11:15.7, while Thedford and Sargent finished 4th and 5th. In the Girls 4 by 100 relay, Ansley was victorious taking 1st with a time of 52.4, Sargent placed 2nd running 53.1, A-M was 3rd in 55.2, while Thedford, Litchfield and Callaway rounded out the top 6. In the Girls Mile relay, Mullen took 1st with a time of 4:22.4, Callaway was 2nd in 4:27.4, Sargent took 3rd in 4:32.8, Ansley came in 4th, Thedford was 5th and Anselmo-Merna was 6th. The Ansley Boys squad won their portion of the Loup Valley Conference Track and Field Championship on Saturday racking up 107 points. Rob Keeney of Callaway was named Boys LVC MVP for his top performances in the Triple Jump, 110 meter high hurdles, 300 meter intermediate hurdles and Mile relay. In the Boys Field events, Alex Peterson of Loup County took 1st in the Long Jump with a jump of 20 feet 11 1/2, Ridge Horky of Sargent placed 2nd jumping 19 feet 4 1/2, Logan McMullen of Anselmo-Merna was 3rd jumping 19 feet 2 inches, Blake Patterson of Callaway was 4th with a leap of 19 feet 1 1/2, Aaron Finney of Thedford took 5th with a jump of 18 feet 9 1/2 and Barry Morse of Sargent came in 6th with a jump of 18 feet 6 inches. In the Boys Triple Jump, as I mentioned before, Rob Keeney of CHS took 1st with a jump of 40 feet 10 1/2, Alex Peterson of Loup County had another solid performance placing 2nd with a jump of 40 feet 8 1/2, Ridge Horky of Sargent took 3rd jumping 39 feet 3 inches, Talon Scott of Ansley came in 4th with a leap of 38 feet 5 inches, while the Bulldogs of Sargent took 5th and 6th as Casey Richards jumped 36 feet 11 1/4 and Barry Morse jumped 36 feet 3 inches. In the Boys High Jump, Cole Seeley of Sandhills had another very good showing taking 1st with a leap of 5 feet 8 inches, Levi Entz of Ansley was 2nd getting over the bar in 5 feet 6 inches, while Ridge Horky of Sargent, Trey Halbert of Sandhills, along with Logan Ryan and Blaine Ryan of Ansley all jumped 5 feet 4 inches taking 3rd, 4th, 5th and 6th. In the Boys Shot Put, Troy McCulley of Ansley came away with 1st throwing 41 feet 6 inches, Tanner Dunbar of Sargent was 2nd with a throw of 39 feet 9 1/2, Russell Baker of Callaway was 3rd throwing 39 feet 1 1/2, Levi Witthun of CHS placed 4th throwing 39 feet, while Nathan Davis of Sargent and Joe Osterhoudt of Callaway both took 5th and 6th throwing 38 feet 9 inches. In the Boys Discus, Seth Vose of Ansley took 1st with a great throw of 126 feet 7 inches, Justin Sterz of Arcadia placed 2nd with a fine throw of 124 feet 8 inches, Nathan Davis of Sargent was 3rd with a throw of 121 feet 8 inches, Gabriel Connealy of Mullen was 4th throwing 120 feet 11 inches, Joe Osterhoudt of Callaway grabbed 5th throwing 111 feet 7 inches and Cesar Maldonado of Sargent took 6th with a throw of 102 feet 8 inches. In the Boys sprinting events, Logan Shermer of Loup County grabbed 1st by one tenth of a second in 11.4, Drew Sommer of Anselmo-Merna was 2nd running 11.5, Gentry Doane of Ansley came in 3rd and Alex Valdsgaard of Thedford 4th both running 11.6, Tyler Bartak of A-M was 5th with a time of 11.8 and Gus Reiser of Thedford was 6th in 12.1. In the Boys 200, Logan Shermer of Loup County was victorious again in one tenth of a second running 23.3, Drew Sommer of A-M was tight 2nd with a time of 23.4, Alex Valdsgaard of THS, Tyler Bartak of A-M and Jeff Slagle of Sargent all came in 3rd, 4th and 5th running 24.1 and Evan Bartak of Anselmo-Merna was 6th with a time of 24.4. In the Boys 110 meter high hurdles, Rob Keeney of Callaway had another incredible performance taking 1st in 15.2, Gentry Doane of Ansley was a narrow 2nd running 15.6, Dustin Schwartz of Mullen placed 3rd in 16.2, Levi Entz of Ansley came in 4th in 17.2, while Logan McMullen and Andrew Christen of A-M took 5th and 6th with a time of 18.6. In the Boys 300 meter intermediate hurdles, Rob Keeney of Callaway had another dynamite performance breaking an LVC Boys record taking 1st in 39.5, Dustin Schwartz of Mullen was 2nd in 41.4, Gentry Doane of AHS had another top 6 finish taking 3rd in 41.9, Alex Peterson of Loup County was 4th in 44.2 and Levi Entz of Ansley finished 5th in 45.3. In the Boys 400, Brad Wright of Mullen barely took 1st in 52.9, Lucas Howard of Loup County was 2nd in 53.2, Evan Bartak of A-M placed 3rd in 54.2, Alex Peterson of Loup County came in 4th in 54.6, Peter Jenkins of Callaway was 5th in 54.7 and Justin Sterz of Arcadia finished 6th in 55.2. In the Boys distance events, Brad Wright of Mullen had a huge kick at the end of the 800 to take 1st in 2:09, Caleb Miles of Thedford was 2nd in 2:09.3, Ty Keller of Thedford came in 3rd in 2:13.6, Justin Sterz of Arcadia was 4th in 2:15.7, Eric Panowicz of Litchfield took 5th in 2:18.2 and Robert Pierce of Callaway came in 6th. In the Boys 1600, Michael Palmer of Ansley won by nearly 10 seconds with a time of 5:01.5, Kale Anderson of Sandhills was 2nd in 5:11.9, Andrew Christen of A-M was 3rd in 5:22, Jade Janssen of Litchfield came in 4th in 5:24,8, Nick Gabriel of Arcadia came in 5th with a time of 5:28.3 and Jesse Mullen of Ansley took 6th running 5:34. In the Boys 3200, Michael Palmer of AHS had another great performance taking 1st running 10:50.6, Caleb Miles of Thedford was 2nd in 11:21.5, Jade Janssen of LHS had another top 6 performance placing 3rd in 11:32.7, Uriel Song of Mullen was 4th in 11:41.7, Nick Gabriel of Arcadia came in 5th in 11:42.9 and Max Ortlepp of Loup County was 6th with a time of 12:35.7. In the Boys relay events, Thedford was triumphant in the 4 by 800 relay running 8:59.9, Mullen took 2nd in 9:29.1, Callaway was 3rd in 9:34.6, while Sargent finished 4th, Ansley was 5th and Anselmo-Merna was 6th. In the Boys 4 by 100 relay, Ansley squeaked out a 1st place finish running 45.7, Anselmo-Merna grabbed 2nd in 46.3, Thedford was 3rd in 47.3, Sandhills was 4th in 48.2, Sargent came in 5th in 48.5 and Litchfield was 6th with a time of 52.7. In the Boys Mile relay, Callaway took 1st sprinting across in 3:39.7, Sargent was 2nd in 3:52.2, Ansley was 3rd in 3:52.8, Sandhills received 4th running 3:58.8, Mullen was 5th in 4:12 and Thedford came in 6th. In boys golf on Thursday, North Platte St. Patrick's barely won their own Irish Invite at Iron Eagle Golf Course by one stroke with a team score of 348. Cambridge and North Platte-JV took 2nd and 3rd with a team score of 349, Hershey was 4th with a 399, Arnold was 8th shooting a 440, Anselmo-Merna came in 9th with a team score of 445, Thedford was 10th with a 471 and Stapleton came in 11th finishing with a 498. Jordan Arensdorf of North Platte St. Patty's won the Invite by two strokes shooting a 79, while Matt Thomas of Thedford took 2nd with an 81. Tyson Springer led Anselmo-Merna by shooting a 95 and other Coyote scores included Casey Halstead with a 105, Ty Taylor with a 117 and Lincoln Baker with a 130. In the top of the pack for Arnold was Erik Chancellor shooting a 95. Other Cardinal scores included Trent Stryker with a 108, Tyler Gralheer with a 116, Keith Gascoigne with a 121 and Colton Schied with a 125. Leading the way for Stapleton was Mark Baumgartner with a 108, J.W. Harwager and Chris Neal both shot a 122, Gilbert Johnson had a 139 and Levi Brown had a 149. Other Thedford scores included Shayne Rodocker with a 109, Jarred Barnes with a 130 and Andrew Shinn finished with a 151.
The Loup Valley Conference Track and Field meet scheduled for today in North Platte has been postponed and will be tomorrow in Arnold beginning at 10:00 a.m. KBBN 95.3 FM will provide reports all day starting sometime after in the morning from AHS. Sargent, Ansley, Callaway, Thedford, Anselmo-Merna, Loup County, Litchfield, Arnold and Mullen will all be competing.
